Danshari is a philosophy of life and a method of organizing, which means “getting rid of unnecessary things” in Japanese. As I mentioned in the title of the article, let’s first break the word down into its component parts with the sword and shield. It is made up of the words ‘Dan:reject’, ‘Sha:separate’, ‘Ri: throw’. Danshari aims to de-clutter both physically and mentally, simplify and lead a happier life.
So we can also call it Japanese Minimalism.
In this article, I will try to explain the relationship between danshari and minimalizm, the components of danshari and how danshari makes us feel.
